Rebranding and SEO: The Transformation of Cheap Furniture Warehouse

From rebranding to high rankings from SEO, we rebuilt Cheap Furniture Warehouse into an online powerhouse. Discover how a new brand and user-friendly website generated organic traffic and sales!

Cheap Furniture Warehouse had been running a successful business from their shops for many years, selling online through eBay and Facebook. But they wanted more. They wanted to rebrand, scale and now launch their own website.

Here’s how we put their dream into action.

Rebranding: A Logo You’ll Love

The first hurdle was a rebrand, and the client needed something small and direct—much like Habitat. So we invented a new symbol: a heart-shaped chair in linework style, in soft, beige colours.

Old logo VS New logo

Why a chair with a heart? Because this brand is all about furniture that you’ll love. Think premium, big brand at 60% off RRP. The flat beige is their clean, minimalist version of unbelievable value.

We developed a brand guidebook for consistency, created digital banner templates, and redesigned external ad banners and business cards.

Also, it was so inspiring to see our own work in-person on these little price labels.

Upon our visit we spotted labels using new branding

Website Development: Designed for Style and Sales

We went with Shopify for their new site, which is a very customisable platform that gives them all of the options they needed (and for us - option to custom code).

Their website is the real star of the show:

  • Sorted into meaningful categories: Furniture is separated by room and categories so that customers don’t have to dig far to discover just what they need.
  • Smart product recommendations: We implemented recommendations on product pages to drive cross-selling.
  • Adjustable payments: We added ClearPay, allowing customers to pay in installments (ideal for students and households with lower incomes).
  • Accessible layout: Its layout is tidy, easy to use, and designed to make shopping easy and enjoyable.
  • eBay to Shopify sync: Products are imported from eBay channel and are automatically assigned into relevant categories and assigned with corresponding metafields.

SEO That Turned Heads (and Rankings)

We know our SEO-game is great, but results have just blown our minds.

Firstly, a great company name — Cheap Furniture Warehouse — instantly provided the website with an advantage in Google searches. Mix that with our on-page SEO power and the numbers were mind-boggling:

  • On 14th November, one week after the debut: 1858 impressions and 12 clicks in a single day.
  • On 7th December: 4134 impressions and 49 clicks in one day.

Google Search Console chart starting week after website launch.

The graph only starts on 14 November and not earlier, because we connected Google Search Console and Google Analytics a bit late (week after launch). Nevertheless, what we delivered in so little time was phenomenal.

Here’s how we did it:

  • Keyword research: Keyword research tags on all pages were strategically placed based on keywords that the user was already looking for.
  • Schema markup: We included structured data, so their products ranked in Google product snippets.
  • Strong page structure: From the product pages to meta tags everything was designed for SEO.

And the best part? The majority of their website orders now come from organic Google search traffic (talk about free advertising).

But here’s the kicker: we’re not even getting started with backlinks yet! All of these performances were the outcome only of on-site and technical optimisation.

The only thing we regret? Not logging in Google Search Console earlier. Lesson learned.

Results: A Brand Reborn

Armed with a sleek new brand, Shopify platform and great SEO metrics, Cheap Furniture Warehouse is now an online monster in its early stages (yet growing rapidly each day).
